Last week, the highly anticipated Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, was finally released, beckoning thousands of Tarnished players to journey to the shadow realm to face off against new enemies and challenging bosses. And now, just days later, developer From Software has rolled out a new patch for the game, aiming to make the Shadow of the Erdtree experience a bit smoother and more balanced.
The newly launched Calibration Update 1.12.2 specifically focuses on tweaking the attack and damage negation provided to players through the Shadow Realm Blessings. Here are the key changes:
- The attack and damage negation has been scaled to provide a more significant boost for the first half of Blessing enhancements, with a more gradual increase in the second half.
- The final level of Blessing enhancements now offers slightly higher attack and damage negation.
If you haven’t seen the patch update automatically, make sure to check the Calibration Version in the bottom right corner of the screen, which should read “1.12.2”. Logging in should prompt the game to update to the latest version.
In addition to the balance adjustments, the update also addresses a known bug related to raytracing settings in Shadow of the Erdtree, which may impact performance for some players, especially if save data from previous versions is detected.
This latest patch follows a previous update that introduced new hairstyles, inventory features, and other enhancements to Elden Ring in preparation for the launch of Shadow of the Erdtree.
