Welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for July 1st, 2024
Dear readers, welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for July 1st, 2024. Happy Canada Day! To celebrate, I decided to take a break and cancel all Switch releases for today. But fear not, I do have some exciting reviews lined up for you. Today, I’ll be looking at Fireside, Neo Sprint, and Topple Zip, while our friend Mikhail dives into Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble. And of course, we have a fantastic list of new sales to explore. So, let’s dive in!
Reviews & Mini-Views
Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble ($49.99)

When Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble was first announced, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Initially, I thought it would focus on multiplayer gameplay. However, as I delved into it, I found the single-player content to be the highlight. With 200 stages to conquer and new mechanics like the Spin Dash option, the game offers plenty of challenges and entertainment for players. Despite some technical issues, the single-player adventure more than justifies the price tag.
Pros:
- Engaging single-player mode with challenging stages
- Great music and sound effects
- Unique Spin Dash mechanic adds depth to gameplay
- Plenty of customization options and additional DLC content
Cons:
- Technical issues impacting online multiplayer experience
- Performance concerns in adventure mode
- Unity issue affecting overall gameplay
Overall, Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble excels in its single-player offerings, providing a challenging and enjoyable experience for players. While the multiplayer modes fall short in their current state, the potential for improvement is there. With some updates and patches, this Switch exclusive has the makings of a superb title.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
Fireside ($14.99)

Fireside offers a charming and relaxing experience for players. As a shipwrecked merchant on an island, you navigate through various tasks to help the island inhabitants and restore shrines. The simple yet engaging gameplay loop, amusing characters, and well-crafted trading mechanics make this game a delightful choice for casual gaming sessions.
SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
NeoSprint ($24.99)

NeoSprint offers a familiar yet content-rich experience for fans of the original Sprint games. While the gameplay feels somewhat shallow, the game compensates with a wide range of content, including numerous tracks, modes, and unlockables. The track editor stands out as a highlight, allowing players to create customized tracks for endless racing fun.
SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5
EGGCONSOLE Topple Zip PC-8801 ($6.49)

Topple Zip offers a unique gaming experience within the EGGCONSOLE lineup. Players navigate through an aircraft race, searching for the right path through warps to progress. While the game concept is intriguing, technical limitations on the PC-8801 platform impact the overall gameplay experience.
