Following a shocking incident at former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Pennsylvania, tech entrepreneur Elon Musk publicly endorsed Trump for reelection on Saturday. The rally took a chaotic turn when gunshots rang out, prompting the Secret Service to quickly remove Trump from the stage. Subsequently, Trump was spotted with blood on his face, but Musk expressed his support for the former president.
“I fully endorse President Trump and wish him a speedy recovery,” Musk stated on X over the weekend.
Shortly after his endorsement, Musk posted a comparison between Trump and former President Theodore Roosevelt, emphasizing Trump’s resilience. Musk shared a photo of Trump defiantly raising his fist amid the chaos, with Secret Service agents safeguarding him.
The Secret Service is currently investigating the nature of the incident, as reports from Pennsylvania District Attorney Richard A Goldfinger suggest that the suspect and an attendee were fatally wounded. However, Trump’s spokesperson confirmed that the former president is unharmed and is under medical evaluation.
Musk’s public support for Trump came after he made a substantial donation to the pro-Trump America PAC, as reported by Bloomberg. This marked Musk’s first contribution in the current election cycle, following his initial neutrality in earlier interviews.
In response to the incident, the White House confirmed that President Joe Biden has been briefed, emphasizing the need for swift action in addressing the situation.
