Xbox enthusiasts can breathe a sigh of relief as the highly anticipated game, Avowed, has been pushed back to a new release date. Players can now mark their calendars for February 18, 2025, when Avowed will finally hit the shelves.
While the delay may be disappointing to eager fans, it does offer a silver lining. The delay means that Avowed will no longer clash with other big titles slated for the holiday season, like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Instead, it will have a chance to shine in the quieter early months of 2025.
So many games coming! As such, we’re moving Avowed to Feb 18, 2025 to give players’ backlogs some breathing room.

The delay announcement hinted at more exciting reveals for games under the Xbox umbrella, including titles from Activision, Blizzard, and Bethesda. Gamescom will be the platform for these announcements, with a special livestream planned for August 23 spotlighting Avowed and giving players a sneak peek into the world of this action-packed RPG.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, Avowed seems to draw inspiration from Obsidian’s successful title, The Outer Worlds. However, this new game promises to be more fantastical than its predecessor, offering players the choice to play in either first- or third-person perspectives. With recruitable NPCs, choice-driven dialogue, and a mix of melee weapons, firearms, and magic in combat, Avowed is shaping up to be a must-play for fans of the genre. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
