When it comes to bugs in video games, they are typically seen as a nuisance that can disrupt gameplay in various ways. However, in the case of Diablo 4, a recent bug has proven to be quite beneficial and popular among players. Activision Blizzard has announced that they will not be fixing this bug for the entirety of the game’s fifth season, Season of the Infernal Hordes.
According to Kotaku, Diablo 4 introduced a system in its fourth season that allows players to upgrade their gear with Legendary Tempering recipes. This system enables players to choose which affixes they want to add to their gear. Normally, these recipes are reset each season, but a bug in Season 5 has allowed all of the previous season’s recipes to remain, making leveling up much easier.
Players of Diablo 4 quickly noticed the bug upon the launch of Season of the Infernal Hordes today. Blizzard responded to the bug, stating that it was not intentional and that they have decided to let it slide. Adam Fletcher, Global Community Development Director, confirmed that while the bug will not be fixed, the reset of tempering recipes will resume with the next season, Vessel of Hatred, in October.
We are aware of the reports that new seasonal characters are having their tempering recipes carried over from their last seasons seasonal character.
This isn’t the original design or intention so I wouldn’t expect this for future seasons but we are letting this one slide for…— Adam Fletcher (@PezRadar) August 6, 2024
In the meantime, players can enjoy playing Season of the Infernal Hordes with more powerful gear thanks to this bug. So, take advantage of it while you can before the next season begins in October!
