God Of War: Ragnarök PC Port Requirements Revealed
Santa Monica Studio has announced the PC system requirements for the upcoming release of God Of War: Ragnarök, which is set to hit the platform on September 19. The biggest shock comes from the storage requirement, with a hefty 190GB needed to install the game.
Originally released on PS4 and PS5, the console versions required significantly less storage space, with 84GB and 106.9GB respectively. However, the PC port ramps up the demand for storage, setting a new standard for game sizes.
Aside from the storage requirement, the rest of the PC specs seem reasonable. The recommended settings for smooth gameplay at 60FPS and 1080P resolution include an Nvidia RTX 2060 Super or AMD RX 5700 GPU, an Intel i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and 16GB of RAM.
With most PC players expected to meet or exceed these specs, the transition to PC should be smooth for Santa Monica Studios. However, one potential hurdle could be the lack of Steam Deck verification at launch, which might discourage some players.
Additionally, players will need an active PlayStation Network (PSN) account to play God Of War: Ragnarök on PC, a requirement that has faced criticism in light of recent controversies surrounding other games.
Despite these potential challenges, the release of God Of War: Ragnarök on PC is highly anticipated and should be a success for Santa Monica Studios.
