As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Incredibles, it’s exciting to hear that Pixar has confirmed Incredibles 3 is in development. Director Brad Bird, known for his work on the first two films, is set to return for the third installment.
The announcement was made by Pixar’s Pete Docter at D23, although no specific details were shared about the release date or storyline. Nevertheless, the news was met with enthusiasm by fans in attendance.
Despite a 14-year gap between the first two films, Bird has never been one to rush into completing a trilogy. Currently, there is speculation about whether Incredibles 3 will be his next project. Bird has signed on to direct an animated sci-fi film called Ray Gunn for Skydance, a project he has been passionate about for decades.
Aside from the exciting news about Incredibles 3, Pixar also teased Toy Story 5 at D23, setting the stage for a night filled with Disney announcements. Marvel unveiled trailers for Agatha All Along, Daredevil: Born Again, and Ironheart exclusively for fans at the event. The cast of The Fantastic Four: First Steps even shared a peek at Human Torch’s costume in the upcoming movie.
Star Wars enthusiasts were treated to previews of Skeleton Crew, The Mandalorian, and Grogu, while Avatar 3 revealed its title. To top off the night, Tron: Ares was a highlight of the event’s closing presentations, leaving Disney fans eager for what’s to come.
