Introducing Skeleton Crew: A New Disney+ Live-Action Series
Exciting news for Star Wars fans! Lucasfilm kicked off this year’s D23 with a sneak peek at the upcoming Disney+ live-action series, Skeleton Crew. The presentation began with Jude Law taking the stage to introduce the premiere of the new trailer, giving viewers a glimpse of his character, a Force user named Jod Na Nawood.
Described as a nod to the Amblin sci-fi movies of the ’80s, Skeleton Crew exudes a nostalgic vibe in its trailer. The story follows four young children who stumble upon a hidden starship in the woods, only to find themselves stranded when the ship leaves their planet without a way back home. The series centers around the kids’ adventures as they navigate the galaxy and seek to reunite with their families.
Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith portray the four main kids of the show, with one having an elephant-like appearance. The talented cast also includes Kerry Condon, Nick Frost, and Jaleel White in key roles.
Set to premiere on Disney+ on December 3, Skeleton Crew’s first season will consist of eight episodes. In addition to this exciting reveal, D23 attendees learned about the upcoming release of Toy Story 5 and the newly named Avatar 3 by James Cameron.
