Amazon Prime Video’s Blade Runner 2099 Begins Production in Prague

Exciting news for sci-fi fans as Blade Runner 2099, the highly anticipated sequel series to the iconic Blade Runner films, has officially begun production in Prague. Earlier this year, the talented Michelle Yeoh was announced to have landed a leading role in the series, alongside rising star Hunter Schafer.
According to The Prague Reporter, filming for Blade Runner 2099 started on June 30 and is scheduled to take place at Barrandov Studio for the next six months. Yeoh will be portraying Olwen, a replicant who is nearing the end of her artificial life, while Schafer will play Cora, a woman who becomes entangled in a mysterious conspiracy with Olwen.
In addition to these two talented actresses, Deadline has reported that several other performers have joined the cast. Katelyn Rose Downey, Lewis Gribben, Dimitri Abold, and Daniel Rigby will be series regulars, with Amy Lennox, Matthew Needham, Sheila Atim, and Johnny Harris taking on recurring guest roles. Unfortunately, details about their characters have been kept under wraps.
Blade Runner 2099 was created by Silka Luisa and will be executive produced by Ridley Scott, the visionary director behind the original Blade Runner film from 1982. While Prime Video has yet to announce a release date for the series, fans can expect a thrilling continuation of the Blade Runner universe filled with action, intrigue, and stunning visuals.
