Apple Introduces Exciting Language Features in iOS 18 Update
Apple wowed tech enthusiasts with the unveiling of iOS 18 at its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) last month. Since then, the company has been busy releasing developer betas to showcase the extended language support across various features of iOS 18.
One of the standout features of this update is the customization options for the lock screen. Now, users can display the time in different numeral formats, with support for 12 languages like Arabic, Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, and more.

The keyboard in iOS 18 has also received significant updates, such as trilingual predictive typing support. Users can now seamlessly switch between different language scripts and receive suggestions in Latin text without any hassle.

Additionally, the Messages app now remembers the language used in different threads, supporting languages like English, Hindi, Tamil, and more. iOS 18 also introduces improved language search functionalities, allowing users to find similar-sounding words in various languages.
Some other language-related updates in iOS 18 include:
- The integration of live voicemail transcription in Indian English.
- Support for Hindi in the Translate app.
- New grammar engine for Hindi and Korean languages.
- The ability to create contact posters using Indian languages and numerals.
Apple plans to release the public version of iOS 18 this fall, featuring all these exciting language enhancements. However, users can already explore these features in the beta versions of iOS 18, keeping in mind the possibility of encountering some bugs.
