Exciting news for Disney Epic Mickey fans – the remake of the 2010 classic, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, now has a release date! Mark your calendars for September 24th.

This revamped version of the game was first announced during a Nintendo Partner Direct earlier this year. Developer Purple Lamp has been hard at work reimagining the gameplay for a new generation of players, complete with updated controls, new brush abilities for Mickey, and stunning graphics. A recent trailer featuring a conversation with Warren Spector, the original creative director of the game, has unveiled the Collector’s Edition of Rebrushed.

Available for pre-order at $199.99, the Collector’s Edition includes:

  • The full game Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed
  • A 28 cm Mickey Mouse statue
  • An Oswald the Lucky Rabbit keychain
  • A vintage Mickey Mouse tin sign
  • Six Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed postcards
  • A Collector’s Steelbook
  • The Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed costume pack

For those unfamiliar with the original game, Disney Epic Mickey follows Mickey as he navigates the Wasteland, a magical realm filled with lesser-known Disney characters, and faces off against Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Disney’s precursor to Mickey Mouse. When Mickey accidentally releases a destructive force called the Blot, he must work to rectify his mistake and save the Wasteland. Players control Mickey and his enchanted paintbrush, with the power to create and erase objects, shaping the game’s narrative with their choices.

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed will be launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Stay tuned for our review of this nostalgic adventure, and in the meantime, you can revisit our thoughts on the original Epic Mickey.
