In an exclusive interview with Empire, showrunners Patrick McKay and J. D. Payne teased what’s to come in Season 2. McKay explained, “The audience is in on the con this time. We know who Sauron is and what he wants. The suspense lies in watching other characters fall into his trap as his sinister plan unfolds.”
Sauron’s manipulation will bring the show’s characters together in unexpected ways, creating a thrilling interconnected narrative. “All our stories start to become one story, highlighting how Sauron’s re-emergence threatens the entire world,” added McKay.
